Temperature and Probiotics

At what temperature should I keep the probiotics?

Don’t worry! Our probiotics aren’t nearly as picky as Goldilocks! The easiest answer to that question is room temperature. That is what we do! However, for your convenience each temperature sensitive product is listed below.

CaniOtic Paste – Room temperature or refrigerator (the cold may make it harder to push out of the tube)

CaniOtic Tablets – Room temperature, refrigerator, or freezer

CaniOtic Oil – Room temperature

CaniOtic Daily Probiotic Drops – Room temperature

EquiBios – Room temperature, refrigerator or freezer

EquiOtic Packets – Room temperature, refrigerator, or freezer

EquiOtic Paste – Room temperature or refrigerator (the cold may make it harder to push out of the tube)

EquiOtic Foal & Mare – Room temperature out of direct sunlight

EquiOtic Boost Paste – Room temperature or refrigerator (the cold may make it harder to push out of the tube)

The basic rule for bacteria and live yeast is that you don’t want them to get hot or sit in the sun for days on end (we estimate 4 – 6 days). Bluegrass produces the probiotics with MORE bacteria than what is guaranteed on the packaging. This way if some of the bacteria die off in transit, you are getting the guaranteed amount and a high quality product (Check out the Guaranteed Analysis on the label).
